If you’re visiting Pleasure Island for the day or you’re staying on the island for vacation, enjoy drinks and a fabulous lunch at Jack Makerel’s as part of your visit. Jack Mackerel’s is an Island Grill, featuring a variety of grilled beef, chicken and seafood entrees. Local seafood, when in season, is the freshest possible and includes Carolina Shrimp, Salmon, Grouper, Flounder, Oysters and more. But and Island Grill wouldn’t be complete without a great selection of expertly cooked landlubber entrees and specials, like Prime Rib, steaks, Jerk Chicken and Rum & Plantain Chicken. And don’t overlook the pasta, like Scampi, Primavera , Cajun Alfredo recipes.

“Pretty neat place by the side of the beach. Our server was very knowledgeable and patient. The food was tasty! We shared the fried shrimp and also ordered two of the sirloin steaks (hats off to our server for telling us about the fabulous special). It was really crowded around dinner time when we got there, but we were able to be seated in a jiffy. Our orders came promptly (15-20 minutes), which was impressive considering how busy the kitchen must have been.” —Pete H.
“Jack Mackerel’s came highly recommended. The staff and food have lived up to the expectations. The calamari appetizer arrived quickly and was delicious. Only one problem with the calamari, it came to an end! The jumbo shrimp came wrapped in bacon and skewered on a thick slice of pineapple with rice and seasonal vegetables. “The food here is great! I would definitely recommend starting with the crab dip! It’s delicious! I also had the Mango-Shrimp Quesadilla, which was good too. The fries here are delicious as well.
